hotel castello dei leoni
Throughout my entire career in art school, I had many ideas that never came to fruition. During my fall semester in my senior year I took a hospitality branding class, a lot happened and I wasn’t in the best headspace and it definitely translated into my work. So, I decided to finally give the brand the look it deserved.

Every brand starts with a logo.
A beautiful castle requires a beautiful logo. To begin, I researched as much information I could learn about this castle. After visiting my relatives who reside in Caccamo, we took a tour of the castle back in 2015. I recalled this plaque that sat above the door to the The Conjuration Hall (La sala della Congiurazione) which depicted a lion on a crest, with two eight pointed stars.
I took all these aspects and included them in the brand, using a lion as the main iconography, mimicking that of medieval heraldry, relating the design back to the castle’s Norman roots.
The crest also includes a shield, which I recycled for this brand, using the shield as iconography that is used throughout the brand, creating a container shape for the logo, as well to use in other applications.
Let’s now look into more of the brand elements.
